I am using this Feather and Fan scarf pattern but turning it into a ruana. I’m making two separate pieces from the front that I will then join into one for the back. The designer was quite nice and gave the stich repeat so that I didn’t have to figure it out, I started with 85 stitches for each front (5 repeats of a 17-stitch repeat).

I have 3 skeins, 3.5 oz each, and want to have as little leftover yarn as possible. If I use .75 of a skein for each front, that will leave 1.5 skeins for the back. So I will need to work the fronts until .875 oz remain each skein then join at back. I hope I have a scale that goes to three decimal points, or maybe find one that weighs in grams. A 3.5 oz skein is 100 grams, math is much easier with grams!

I’m hibernating this one as of today, re-discovered Tunisian entrelac for a new project. I’ve found I have more fun if I only keep 3 or 4 projects in WIP at any given time.

This is the only project I brought with me on my final visit with Mama in NC - only project I have that is completely mindless. I ended up frogging everything I had done to date, the F (3.75 mm) hook was was too tight and the number of stitches I was using were using up the yarn too fast. So I started over:
H8 (5.00 mm) hook, 51 stitches

Frogging this project - still not satisfied with the stitch pattern. I want something that is more open and lacey.
