Stocking up on hats. Making medium size

Working this with 2 twisted rib sections, divide as follows.
Worked as… SS/TR/SS/TR
Small: 21/23/21/23
Medium: 23/25/23/25
Large: 25/27/25/27

When I was done with the ribbing I only switched the working needle to a 7 and left the 6 on the other end (ChiaoGoo interchangeables) which gives a bit more room with all the twisted stitches. I worked the body longer so it would naturally cover the ears.

For the crown decreases I chose to just k2tog every round, instead of k2tog every other, at the end of each of the 4 sections (ather shifting so the sections ended on a knit in the rib sections)to make it smoother and easier to work the decreases. I also twisted the top stitch when decreasing in the rib section. It equals the same amount of decreases as the written pattern. Then I went into the k3tog every round as indiccated.

I made this for someone with a smaller head than me, so it looks small on me for the pics.

Also… if you are a mirror knitter. On the body when you increase, do a m1r instead of m1l

If I were to make this again I would increase with a backwards loop co twisted right (or left for standard knitters) instead of a m1 from the bar. The twisted stitches make it really tight and strained my hands
