Cast on 54 stitches.

Note: I took others advise and just started this way from the beginning, the pattern calls for lesser number caston and more stitches added in row 6.

Knit 5 rows even in garter

(WS) Row 6 is an increase row. K2, KFB, repeat across row increasing 18 stitches to equal 72 total stitches, evenly across the row.

(RS) Row 1: K3, P22, work chart B, P22, K3 (K3, 22 stitches of chart A, chart B, and 22 stitches of chart A repeat, K3.

(WS): Rows 2 and 4 repeat and uses chart A for 22 stitches before and after the center section which is chart B, Plus 3 stitches of garter at both ends of square. Wrong side row chart B is to knit what you see on your needles, knit the knits and purl the purls. You don’t need to really look at the chart for the wrong side rows center section.

(RS): All right size rows follow the same set up as Row 1 above. K3, 22 stitches of Chart A, Chart B center stitches, 22 stitches of Chart A, and end with K3.
