Notes

2/3/18: I purchased this as a kit on Craftsy. It isn’t my first time using this yarn and as I was the last time, I am pleased it.

I just started the pattern this evening and am only a few rows in the repeat. It is turning out lovely and my gauge was a perfect match to that described in the patter, which is always a good sign.

I have been crushing on this design for quite some time and am super excited to finally be giving it a try.

Now for my review of the kit with Craftsy for those considering it.

1) I am afraid I will run out of yarn and I think this was a flaw of their kit - not the pattern or design. That said, right after I ordered it, I see they have now changed the kit to include more yarn. So - Thank you to Craftsy for listening to your customers and correcting the issue. For me, I’m being very cautious in hopes I will have just enough, but I went into having read reviews and anticipating it could be a problem. I’m not bothered by this because I know they have corrected the issue.

2) I have gotten other kits from Craftsy. I have never gotten a color printed pattern with my kit until this one. Many people complain about this. It wasn’t ever that big of a deal to me, but this was a very pleasant surprise. I love that I didn’t have to print it out and that it was in color! AGAIN - Thanks to Craftsy for listening to their customers. I will have to do a review there as well! This made it even an easier than usual.

3) I am an experienced knitter so this pattern is quite simple for me in nature. HOWEVER, this pattern is very well written, clear as day. Any beginner knitter could easily take this project on. I think the most challenging part of this will be the assembly. The knitting part is really straight forward. If you can knit and purl, you can easily do this project. For anybody who is a new knitter and interested in this, I would say 100% - go for it.

4) Color options: I got the color option that was primarily denim and also included Misty blue and Silvery Grey. They are spot on and what I expected. I can’t wait to see the finished product!

5) The design of this is truly magically. it is turning out just stunning already even only a few rows in. This one is a keeper! I see so many people making mulitples of this in all different colors and yarns - and i totally understand why. Thank you to the designing for a brilliant design and a pattern that is well-written, easy to follow and genius!

I finished this a few weeks ago and will post pictures as soon as I have time.

Updates on the pattern: Genius. It is gorgeous. The hardest part of the pattern is crocheting the vertical stripes. That said, that isn’t very hard. It is a little bit awkward because you are sort of working blind on the backside, so it can seem a little tedious, but it is definitely doable and worth it. All that said, I have already started a second one in more neutral colors. This will be perfect for spring!
