Simple hat. Didn’t use a pattern. Cast on 110 on 3.5 mm needle. Knit a 4-inch ribbed cuff. Switched needles to a size 4 and then knit in stockinette until it measured a total of about 8 inches or so. Probably could have used closer to 9 inches but worked out well in the end.
I started doing decreases by 11 stitches a row and then knitting a row between decreasing rows.
Decreased rows
k8, k2tog
Knit 1 row
k7, k2tog
Knit 1 row
K6, k2tog
Knit 1 row,
etc. until you get down to 11 stitches on your needles and by that time you would have had to switch to DPNs. The last two rows, I K1 and k2tog just to have a tighter knitted close to the top. I think that left me with 7 stitches on my needles. I knit the last row. Using a needle to loop the yarn back through the remainder of the live stitches.
I will eventually add a pom-pom to the top of this that includes all the colors of the turkish delight yarn. I let the colors fall where they did naturally so I don’t have all the colors in the skin in my hat, thus the reason why I will make sure the pom-pom does.
