Now that I’ve gotten around to working the cover side, this one is proving a little more difficult than expected. There are instructions that don’t seem quite clear and don’t have clarifying pictures, and I’m struggling to get the outside spine looking like it does in the single photo on the pattern. I think I’m going to hunt on the author’s site and see if I overlooked any errata or additional photos, or anything.
Later: No such luck, but I did find in the other projects for this pattern that I’m not the only one who had some trouble interpreting it. Of course, there were others who read it through with no problem. Guess I’ll just improv a solution, or something. Otherwise, I like it. I really like the cross stitch double crochet; it’s lovely.

Finally got the spine worked out and got about halfway through the last leg of the outer cover. Trim and closure tonight, and I’ll be done!! I’m happy with how it’s looking, now. Photos tomorrow!!

Finished! I need to shape it a little better, and I got turned around choosing which side to put the button on, but I love it anyway. I really like how the Country Rose looks for this. It’s sassy! The only thing I would really say negative, other than the trouble I had with the spine part of the pattern, as written, is that it probably won’t work too well for little thread crochet hooks. My F and G already threaten to poke through the bottoms of the little pockets.
