This project deserves notes:

I made the larger of the two sizes, which the pattern indicates will be a 20” chest size. I had previously made the same pattern in the smaller size, but I think the babies fit in this dress a little sooner.

I had one skein of Madelinetosh tosh merino light and used all of it up, with just enough to sew on the buttons. In fact, I would have run out but I cheated the skirt to ensure I had enough for the sleeves. I knit all the way to the bind-off at the neck to calculate just how much more I would need, then frogged 4 rows before the k2tog at the seed stitch waistband, then re-knit the yoke. The skirt length ended up being 8.75” instead of 9.5”, but this gave me enough to complete the entire yoke section with the deep split modification (http://www.ravelry.com/projects/KatherineLeek/clara) and a stretchy neck bind-off in seed stitch.

I divided the remainder of the yarn I had left so when I picked up the sleeve stitches, I would have an even amount for both sides. I cast on an extra stitch so that it would automatically offset in seed stitch and knit 5 rounds (instead of 10) before binding off in pattern with a needle 2 sizes larger. I started my bind-off in the middle of the 10 original stitches so there would be no visible stitch at the start/end of the round.
