How does Hedgehog Fibers come up with their color names? How does this nighttime kelp forest color get to be named “Pilgrim”?

Ghost, I suppose makes sense as it’s a ghost of a color. Is it leftover red, purple remnants? We’ll never know

Budgie, Bubble, Dragonfly, Monet, Fool’s Gold, and Ozone all look like I would imagine. Even Poison and Vengeance make sense after a fashion.

But why oh why is Electric, nearly navy blue, Artifact, light brown with pink flecks, and Pilgrim is oceanic blue green?

A mystery for another day…and either way appropriate color for baby’s first thanksgiving sweater.

Aiming for a size bigger than pattern, but smaller than the result of my Aran weight test.

Worked 3 additional rows in Collar and Shoulder section. Yielded approximately 20” chest

1st skein ran out in 8th row of Body. No pattern changes in increasing section of body, but 5 additional rows of straight work, for approximately 8” pit to waist

Working first edge round SC where body section ends inside of cutting yarn and attaching behind neck. It’ll save me a few tails, and I think the neck area will look smoother with 2 less tails to tuck in two rows of SC, in basically the same place. Found edge color in scraps box. There were a few options, but liked this color/texture best. Educated guess says I have enough yardage. Worked 5SC per 2 rows on sides (3 in turning chain row, 2 in DC row). Middle of 3sc is worked into the next stitch (like a spike sc) to reduce space between turning chain and rest of the work. 1st round corners I worked sc, ch, sc, otherwise edge to pattern.

Aiming for 6” sleeves, I think 14 rounds will get me there. Had 48.72 grams of yarn before starting sleeves so I’ll know when I’m halfway. Turning each round to better match body.

Only needed 13 rounds. Ended with round of SC in main color and another round in contrast.

So little yarn remaining! It wouldn’t have been possible without the generous skeins I received

Completed 10/23/21, adding more to the sleeves and length, 01/08/25.

Add 8 inches to sleeves (16rnds) and 4 inches to bottom (8 rows)
