Took me about 4 hours to entirely work as a different pattern (entirely HDC) lined with Caribou like Twig. Upon finishing, the back was too hard to work into, and the dimensions weren’t great (too short and fat to wear doubled, too long to wear single).

I used my initial attempt as a gauge swatch figured I could get 2,250 HDC from the yarn I have. Used another entirely HDC and free pattern, with a knit cowl I liked the dimensions of, and perfect! Turned out even better than I thought.

Starting chain of 40, 10 rows of BLO HDC, row 11 & 12 short rows (26 worked, 13 left unworked) continue until yarn is used up (56 rows, not counting short rows). Because that ended on the bottom (wider) side BLOSS 13 stitches, then zip stitch to attach remaining 26 to starting chain. (the picture without the fur was taken at this point, and was already a nice cowl)

Worked the furry yarn (again HDCs) into the leftover loops on the wrong side (they are the same on both sides but I knotted my black yarns to maximize yardage), serpentine from top to bottom, sideways. I really like how the fur looks it was sewn in strips like real fur is!

I didn’t use the linked pattern, but it’s pretty close (without short rows or two types of yarn)
