I ran out of both Silver and Bamboo before the end of the second repeat (and had to fill the last row and a half of Garnet, substituting for Hydrangea, with Flint, which fortunately is surprisingly non-obvious). So for the final section I simply switched back wholesale to the alternate set of colours in an attempt to make it look coherent; we now have 1 repeat in Set 1, 1 repeat in Set 2, about 2/3 of another repeat in Set 1 with purple substituted for blue, and then the last 1/3 of the third repeat in Set 2 again…. As a result the two ends don’t match at all visually, but one of them matches with the middle!
After washing and pinning out the ends, the scarf has now grown to 60”, which means you can wrap it right round your neck rather than just tucking the ends into your coat, and is on the whole an improvement. I hoped that washing it gently in bubble bath would make the wool softer, but it hasn’t really - it has only perfumed it!
The finished garment in this wool weighs 4 ounces and used rather more than the measured yardage, since it also has the shiny red stripes in it from yarn that was not listed separately in my stash.

Ist pattern repeat complete, using Main: Silver, Yellow: Bamboo, Light: Hydrangea, Dark: Mulled Wine.
Hydrangea all used up bar a few inches left after the last two rows. For the two rows of L that separate the pattern repeats, I can probably use Flint but may need a higher contrast, e.g. black.
The plan for the next pattern repeat is Main: Pebble, Yellow: Branch, Light: Heather and for Dark the shiny brown silk.
One pattern repeat measures about 15 inches, making the entire scarf about 45” in length as written.

The Hydrangea blue is barely going to last for one repeat -- I’ll be lucky to squeeze the last two rows out of it. I’ll probably end up using the Garnet on the next repeat using these colours, assuming there is enough of that.
Matching the contrast on the Bamboo yellow for the next colour combination is going to be tricky with the colours left.

I didn’t bother making a tension square, as this is only a scarf, but to my amazement I actually get the exact stated tension using the large size 7 needles on this fine wool.
Attempting to weave in ends as I go.
