I’ve decided to try the Babette Blanket which I absolutely fell in love with the first time I saw it in Interweave Crochet magazine.
I started using worsted weight acrylic from my yarn stash but am having to buy more yarn. I’m guessing that I’ll use around 50-55 ounces of yarn, but it’s impossible to give an accurate weight because about a third of the yarn is from my stash. To get that estimate, I simply doubled the amount of yarn used in the original pattern, i.e., 22 or so sounces of merino superfine wool. Kathy’s pattern calls for an E hook.

I’ve added three more photos so you can see wherre I am. I finished the 8- and 10-round squares a couple of days ago. I started to make the 12-round squares, 2 of them, but I didn’t like the color combinations. I had made about 3 12-round squares at the very beginning of the project. I like those colors better, so I selected two of them. You can see them in the bottom photo; they’re the two biggest ones. I’ll post one final photo when I’m done.

The squares are all done, and I’ve got them laid out on a sheet, ready for piecing.

It’s finally done. Just finished adding the border; still have to weave in some ends but as far as I’m concerned, this sucker is done!!
