Notes

This was an easy sweater to make. The pattern is in the Spring 2007 issue of Interweave Crochet magazine.

I didn’t use the yarn called for in the pattern (Classic Elite Provence, 100% Mercerized Cotton, 205 yds, 3.5 oz skein, color #2669 - Pale Lilac, 7 skeins).

I think I used an “H” hook, although I might have used an “I.” Whichever hook I used, I was able to recreate the gauge fairly accurately.

And I’m not 100% sure of the number of skeins I used, but it was somewherre around 8 or 9. I think I took the yardage from the Classic Elite yarn and applied it to the Sugar ‘n Cream to come up with the right number of skeins.

I also made the sweater a little longer by adding an extra spiderweb motif (to cover that mddle age spread ).

When I first saw Marty Miller in the sweater at a CGOA Chain Link conference, I was fascinated because I thought it was made from individual blocks. But the sweater is actually crocheted vertically.

I was delighted to see Interweave Crochet feature her design.
