Dial tension 6.2 for Capretta superwash fingering. Increase length by 17 rows from wrist to tip of fingers.

E-wrap cast on edge in white. Next time opt for a thicker cast. Pick up this edge to knit the lining.

For the thumb, hand knit in the waste yarn. Knit the thumbs on the machine (be sure to flip for the second thumb). Before sewing the mittens are sewn up, insert the thumb. Be sure the seam of the thumb (up the side) faces the palm.

1. Pick up the stitches and knit row 1 of the thumb by hand.
2. Line up the thumb so that the pattern is accurate on the right side of the work.
3. Row 2 is actually the kitchener grafting. Graft the thumb to the mitten with the two colors in pattern according to row 2 of the chart.
