Crocheted cast on. 156 row length

Liner: Gloss fingering, Doe
Dial tension: Knit on 72 CSM, tension 3.75 turns

Cuff-to-thumb insert position: 60 rows

Thumb: Start on Row 61
BE SURE TO ALIGN THE THUMB LOCATION WITH THE THUMB LOCATION OF THE OUTER. For my mittens, they start on needle #6 from the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions (as my row start is the 3 o’clock position). Just adjust them to make it work for you, however it works well.

Hand needles on hold:
Thumb base across 15 stitches (needles 6-21):
Thumb base: 19 rows up one side
Thumb tip: Knit as a toe with decreases: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 12, 13, 14, 15 single, with 5-6 and 10-11 worked as pairs (7, 8, 9 is center of thumb)
Thumb base, other side: 19 rows

Bring the rest of the needles back to work.
Thumb-to-pinky tip: Row 61-96
Knit fingertips as typical toe. Kitchener closed. Sew thumb sides.

After liner is finished, then sew together the outer mitten.
