Started this while away for the weekend and therefore didn’t have a chance to peruse other peoples ravelry notes before starting so I missed out on adding cables to the back. Telling myself it doesn’t matter since I won’t see the back while I’m wearing it…
9/6/13: on the second front, pattern doesn’t tell you exactly how to knit each part, but that’s fine with me. Easy enough to work out and I’ve knit plenty of sweaters now :)
11/06/13: started on the sleeves, 2aat in the round.
19/6/13: the button band is almost finished, if I get any knitting time in today I’m sure it’ll be done, then I’ve only got the side seams to go :)
20/6/13: Used the same collar is in chocolate stout (although 2x2 ribbing rather than 1x1). It is pulling in a bit (I probably didn’t pick up enough stitches up the fronts). But once I’d seamed one side it sat a lot better so I think seaming the second side and blocking might resolve the problem, it didn’t take long so if it doesn’t I’ll just start the button band again.
20/6/13: second seam done and blocking again to try and resolve the button band curl, you never know the wonders of blocking might fix it, but I have my doubts. I won’t mind too much if I have to redo the whole button band because I have now fallen in love with this cardi. I didn’t expect to at all, but once I tried it on when I’d seamed it all up and pulled the fronts down it totally exceeded my expectations. Happy days :)
25/6/13: Blocking worked its magic, just need buttons and to sew the ends in.
8/7/13: Buttons arrived and ends sewn in.
