Lace Edge Pattern 7 from Nancy Bush’s Knitted Lace of Estonia With Fern Leaf Lace from Sharon Miller’s Heirloom Knitting. Looks like trees throwing leaves into the sky at this point.

Cast on 134 stitches. 11 repeats of the Estonian edging and 6 of the Fern Leaf Lace stitch. Threw in a few knit edge stitches to balance the difference between the two.

I plan on using up the whole skein (875 yes/100 g) of this lovely yarn. Thanks to DebbyAknit for the use of her light box. My first time using one. Must figure out how to make a clear background. The colour is just right!

November 17th: Bored with knitting in one direction, I broke the yarn and cast on for the second edging. Now I can measure my progress against the first piece. I think I will have enough yarn to knit 12 repeats and then add a small center section.
December 26th: Finished with about a yard to spare. I knit 15 repeats of the Fern Leaf lace and a plain garter centre, continuing the ribbed stripes. Finished by grafting the two pieces together. It measures anout 64 inches long and 20 inches wide.

Will dress up a plain blouse or act as a simple scarf.
