Anything goes – solid, tonal, striping, variegated.
NEEDLES: US 1.0 (2.25 mm) or US 1.5 (2.50 mm) or size to obtain a snug fabric
GAUGE:
2.25 mm: 18 st & 24 rows = 2 inches in stockinette
2.5 mm: 16 st & 20 rows = 2 inches in stockinette
TESTER 1: Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock with a 10.25 inch heel to toe measurement, and used 395 yds/365 m
TESTER 2: Regia Design line by Kaffe Fassette; one sock used 44g.
TESTER 3: Pair weighs 81g

OPTIONS: The pattern includes lots of options, in addition to size. For Sock Madness, the following options are NOT ALLOWED.

1. No changes to placement of Star units. Star unit placement must follow the layout of page 4.
2. You may not use the option to make units smaller.
3. You may not use the option to increase elasticity by converting make 1 rounds to plain rounds.

Submission Requirements:

The minimum size required for competition players is the MEDIUM (55 sts) size.

You must knit a minimum of 2 tiers of units on the leg, 2 tiers of units on the instep/foot, and 18 rounds minimum for the cuff.

ALL required photos must be added to your project page. Never attach photos to your email unless specifically asked to do so by a mod.

Photo Requirements:

1. Your progress photo.

2. Your photo showing the socks on adult feet, or with blockers/faux feet and a measuring device showing they are at least the 9”/22.9cm minimum length (this photo could be combined with 3 or 4 below).

3. A side view photo where all of both socks are visible in one photo.

4. A full front view -- we need to see clearly all of the fronts of both socks in one photo.
