Notes

Goodness, going to have to get a move on here, Christmas is coming… (hooray - how much do I love Christmas?!)

Having made a not big enough version, at least I have some idea of how many to cast on this time to allow for bulkiness of yarn and the extra room taken up by strands across the back of the work - this is more than I expected and what i didn’t allow for in my gauge last time.

So I’m casting on 104 stitches this time in the hope that will be big enough but not too big for Gene, and I’m also hoping he will like a patterned jumper enough to want to wear it. (He is still requesting shorts although it’s freezers because it’s December and winter…clearly he should have been born in the Southern Hemisphere…)

Okay, it’s blocked but I still haven’t sewn in the ends. It was fun seeing how the patterns emerged using different combinations of 1/1, 3/1, 1/3. It looks a bit knights-of-the-round-table I think. I’m liking the 50’s styling again. So much so I tried it on myself - it’s too small for me, of course, but now I really fancy making one for me! Just got Fred’s to make and I’ll see how much yarn I have left over…
