Tomten number 3. I love this pattern. Inspired by other ravellers (Thank you Cherolia and sdhoadley) to knit Evie a coat and to decorate in some way. Maybe a flowery pocket or something. Main body will be red, with some orange and mustard.

Co 112 sts. This should give me a finished size of 22/24 ins, which should give some room for growing and going over other clothes.

The knitting of this got interrupted by other projects. I messed up the arms a little (the stripes got in the way of neatly picking up the edges) and by then I had sort of fallen out of love with it. I started to imagine it being much nicer in other colours…

The embroidery was tricky - garter stitch isn’t an ideal surface to work on, and my embroidery skills not very advanced. But the buttons from the amazing bargain button pack I bought on ebay have prettied it up a lot. Am I over my mismatchy button thing yet? Umm…nope, probably not.

Tried it on Evie before blocking, so it still looks a little lumpy. But it’s quite cute. And I don’t ALWAYS bribe her with blueberry rice cakes to get her to try things on, honestly…
