Notes

I’d already cast up a hat for Bobby who’s da crofter (farmer really here in Shetland) who wears a Shetland wool hat constantly as he is outside working all the time in all weather. His last hat was Oliver’s hat and he likes his hats not coming down well over his ears so when I saw the new design for 2021 Shetland Wool Week I put in the main lozenge from Chart B. I omitted the peerie pattern instead I did 1/1 with two colours.
I knitted his favourite crown pattern which is from Oliver’s hat as it decreases quickly and therefore makes hat the style he prefers.

Cast on 140 stitches, increased to 168 for Fair Isle, to follow pattern then decreased to 140 to follow other pattern crown chart.
I used 3.25mm 16 in circular needle.
All wool natural colours from Jamieson and Smith Shetland Supreme Jumper Weight range.
