This turned out to be much smaller than I expected, 8.5” tall, but since it’s for a baby, that’s actually good. It’s always interesting, while making a creature, how the personality emerges as you go, especially when doing the eyes and nose. I’m very happy with how cute s/he is and how intelligent (!) s/he looks.

I used organic cotton, which is really soft, and wool stuffing. I also double and triple knotted any ends and made a round seed-stitch tail instead of a pompom, all so the bunny is safe for a baby.

I used this video for Judy’s Magic Cast-On, an improved version that doesn’t require knitting into the back of the stitches on the first round. I struggled with other videos until I found this one. This cast-on makes a closed piece of fabric, no split at the bottom of the piece you cast on.
