SS10, EON, 9mm Brother 260

I tested this jacket in HK, intending it to be for my youngest granddaughter for next winter. Well, we found an error in the pattern, and instead of fitting a 5-6 month old, it was great for her 3 year old sister who wears size 5T at the time of this photo. Since I learned in this test that knitting with bulky yarns hurts my arthritic finger joints, I have converted the pattern to machine knitting.

I tried handknitting the ribbing, then hanging on the machine. Because I need to knit this thick yarn on every other needle on the chunky machine to get gauge, the ribbing would not stretch far enough. So, I’m knitting bottom up from provisional cast on, and will handknit ribbing after.

Modifications:
Machine knit instead of hand knit
Knit from provisional cast-on bottom up, in pieces and seamed
Went down to a 5.0mm needle for ribbing.
Created a middle size in between sizes given in pattern
