knit seamlessly from the top down, using an unusual construction

The neckband is integrated to prevent annoying finishing work and all parts are knit as you go to avoid too many ends to be woven in.

start knitting with the neckband in the round, then narrow stripes for the shoulders are knit and stitches picked up along the edges for the shoulders.
The shaping is achieved by short rows. After joining front and back shoulder part under arms, the body is worked in the round with lateral decreases to create comfortable batwing sleeves.
To finish, stitches along the armholes are picked up and the sleeves are worked down, continuing the shoulder pattern.
