Krista and Jeff have been trying to adopt. They just found out they have been picked by a birth mom & are getting a baby! He’s due in two weeks so I need a quick blankie, as it could be any day really.

I like the look of the 10-stitch blankets in color-change yarn. Since this is super-bulky I thought 6 stitches looked about right. I didn’t use the pattern really, just looked at the picture & converted it to Tunisian entrelac. Can’t get over how much I have done in just one day! I have manipulated the colors a bit so the same don’t touch, as these repeats are so long. I plan to use two full skeins for the body, then some sort of simple border with the third.

Too busy to touch it.

Finished the body - went around with skeins 1 & 2 until they ran out. Started skein 3 by doing crab stitch in the front loop around, then in the back loops began a plain sc border, working subsequent rounds BLO to keep the linear look. Will end with another round of crab stitch.
This 3rd skein had a knot that effed up the color sequence, boo. Skein 1 was knot-free, skein 2 had a knot but the color sequence was unaffected.

Done! It’s the amazing 3-day blanket! I have exactly 1.5 yards of yarn left too. Skein 3 was enough to do 6 rounds of blo sc after the reverse sc round. Then I did a round of slip stitch flo to give the edge more strength. I wanted an edge of reverse sc but didn’t have enough yarn so the sl st worked. Finished size 34” x 39”
It’s so warm & snuggly, I want to make one for myself, as a lapghan for the couch. And my daughter is coveting it too. I also think it doesn’t look too babyish, but will grow with the child. I hope Krista likes it!
