Pattern test - holding two fingering yarns together to equal DK

Began with 85 fsc (per designer’s recommendation, many testers beginning with 85). 23” after 85 fsc, 21” after round 4, right on gauge. My two yarns together are working up so soft and smooshy!!! Really more of a worsted equivalent I think. Quite nice so far!

Looking good - first ball of Stroll just ran out, nearly at the the end of round 28.

I believe I am working my post sc stitches too tightly. The 2nd band of them was tight around my neck. (1st band was ok, I think my tension got tighter as I grew used to the two yarns together.) Consulted designer, & frogged back to row 16, to re-do with an I hook from there on. Back again at round 28, and looks & feels much better.

Finished increase section, broke yarn. Plan to use doubled Chroma alone for poncho body/ contrast section. Pulling from outside & inside of ball two. I’m intentionally not matching the colors - I want a more intense version of the heathered effect I’m getting with the stroll / chroma pair.

Through row 42. Perhaps I can finish tomorrow! I really love how the doubled Chroma looks. This plain dc section is just flying. Still using I hook.

Done! Used every last inch of the Chroma, have about 4 yards left of the gray Stroll.

I switched back to one strand of Chroma/one of stroll at round 45. Would have liked to do designer’s alternate edging, but only had enough yarn for standard edging.

Looks fabulous, can’t wait to wear it to work tomorrow!!
