I need to pimp my ride. I bought an awesome pattern for skirt guards…then was heartbroken to realize I had no way of attaching them to my fender-less bike. Boo :( well I can still make a seat cover & a helmet cover! And maybe more we’ll see what I can muddle up in the 1.5 weeks until Bike the Drive in Chicago.

Seat cover done. I modified the heart pattern location a bit just to suit my design preference.

For the sides I did two rows of sc, one row of dc in my contrast color, then 4 rows of sc in main color & a final row of dc in contrast. I think the narrow bottom part is too big (long) for my seat but the top seems good. I may use elastic not a chain to hold it in place.

Elastic works great, ran 1/4” in and out of last dc row & tied in back.

Using the asymmetrical cardigan motifs for my helmet cover. Going to make 4 of each for starters & go from there.

Helmet finished! It’s so cute!

4 of each motif, except the small flower I made a 5th to fill in one last little spot. Started out by using placememt guide from back of jacket, then just winged it.

Two rows of dc around bottom, using fdc to jump spaces between motifs. Under sun visor ran a long strip of fdc, then sewed that in a few spots to motifs, running yarn under visor. Ran elastic thru the last round of dc and it fits perfectly!

Inaugural use at the Chicago ‘bike the drive’ ride today. Got lots of compliments. Very fun to be biking down the road & have people yell out ‘cute! love your crochet!’
