I’ve wanted to make this for Miriam since I saw it. I’ve had startitis big time lately so why not?
I’m not turning rounds because I’m using self striping yarn, and I don’t want the color bands to be thicker at the turning edge. It means I’ll have a bunch of ends to weave in at the back opening edges, but that’s the choice I’ve made!
I’m joining to work in rounds on row 12. That was enough rows to get over her head, & less ends. Working up quickly & so cute!! I moved the join from CB to the 1st corner v-stitch (behind left arm) that makes the join/jog in color much less noticeable, and it will be at underarm on the skirt /waistband.

1st ball finished bodice. Doing 5 rounds of waistband as there are 5 colors in the yarn and each color does exactly one round, lucked out there! Also went down to F hook for waistband, it seemed too loose with G.

I think I’m going to start alternating balls/rows on the skirt to mix the color up a bit more. I’m past the increases & the way the repeats /stitch count worked out it doesn’t change enough & is pooling. May even rip a few rows back.

I did rip back several rows & start alternating. Looks much better. Wish I’d taken before pics though. Finished skirt & on to trim. I am going to manipulate the colors so the final rounds are all one color as the waistband. I have plenty of yarn.

Finished all the trim. Just need to sew in about 30 ends from all the color manipulation to get the bands even, and do the button band. I added trim to the armholes as well, as cap sleeves. I also added a final row of slip at the neck edge to make it look more finished, & so all the edges will be dark pink. I think I’ll do the button band in light pink, then find some dark pink buttons.

Finally finished weaving all the ends & did the button band. Can’t wait to see her in it!
