I really like the Riddler from Gotham, I think to an obsessive level! (oops) I wish I could be as creative as him and come up with riddles all day long. Honestly, I’m not even good at answering riddles! But what I can do is knit a doll that looks like him to cuddle with while watching the show!! :D So I used up extra yarn I had lying around from when I made Harry Potter dolls. Also some green and brown yarn that I have had for ages! I wish I had a darker brown or black/brown for the hair but the yarn I used was the darkest I had. As for clothes, I decided to sew them instead of trying to knit them (although I did cheat and use hot glue for some pieces). I used leftovers to make his clothes and recycled a piece of plastic packaging for the glasses. His clothes aren’t removable except for his lab coat and I think in the future I’ll knit him a sweater. He does wear a few in the show so it’s canon!
Want to know how I made the glasses? Watch the same video I did! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3_IrxQbRns Shout out to My Foggy Stuff for the helpful video!!
P.S. I did have to change it a bit to get the browline style vs. a fully rimmed pair. I just left the paper lens on but did not glue it down when gluing the frame of the glasses to the plastic backing. Then I used an exacto knife to cut away the paper and leave the clear plastic behind. Paint it black and seal for a glossy finish!
Picture Captions:
No.1: Close up of a seated Nygma :) I still need to make a tiny name tag.
No.2: Posed with his hands at his sides. (I used pins.)
No.3: Twins!! I made the other too. Well I gave a Raven from Ever After High a face up. Now she is genderbent Nygma.
No.4 Triplets! Here’s a comparison with the Gotham action figure.
No.5: Backside of the clothed doll. I tried hard to capture as many details of the lab coat as possible.
No.6: The lab coat can open to show off that purple tie! Also pockets are functional!!
No.7: Almost done!! Right now he kind of looks like a recolored Shaun from Shaun of the Dead haha
No.9: Front side of just the knit body.
No.8: Back side.
No. 10 & 11: For comparison I took some photos from pinterest of the real (TV) Ed. I do not own these last two pictures.
