This Christmas I decided to knit a princess doll for my cousin’s little daughter. I wanted the excuse to knit the doll a sweater which lead me to the idea of making her a “pauper” as well. I haven’t made removable clothes for a knit doll yet and I excited to try it out. Hopefully it turns out well. More importantly I hope she likes the toy!
Day one: I’m challenging myself to knit up the entire doll in one day. (mission completed!) I’m totally patting myself on the back after a long day’s work. I’ll draw a sketch of the outfits tonight and sew them tomorrow.
Day two: I didn’t get as much done as I wanted but the majority of the princess costume is done. Only the sleeves and embellishments are left.
Day three: Puff sleeves, flowers, and trim are attached. Unfortunately, that’s all I could get done today.
Day four: I’ve knitted most of the cardigan, again really slow progress, I’ve been unexpectedly busy.
Day five: Very productive day! I sewed the pauper dress, finished the cardigan, crafted the crown, and embroidered the face. She’s so close to being finished!
Day six: She’s done! I attached the curled yarn hair and took pictures. She’s ready to be gift wrapped and I’m even more excited to give it to my baby cousin :)
