The guild I work for asked me to marry together two Macomber B5 four-harness looms to make a single 8-harness loom. The project went well and I was left with a stripped frame that wasn’t going to any use, so I cut it down to make a winding station for the guild studio, and it’s awesome!
Specs: cut the height from 50” to 38”
cut the width from 42” (?) to 32”
cut the base on the long side so it was symmetrical
top piece overhangs by 3” on each side
The only piece that isn’t original loom wood is the piece of ipe on the top that my dad donated to the cause. The loom slats weren’t as wide as the top of the castle so we needed to supplement.
I am very happy that I was able to preserve the loom for another use for the guild who received it decades ago as a donation!
