I found a free pattern ( Lopi 18 16 ) (they are now charging for it again) for a pullover sweater in lopi yarn from Ístex for what is my first sweater that I’ve actually completed, knit in the round.

I’ve changed things a bit; I cast on all the stitches for the hem and sleeve cuffs to not have them be pinched in; happy to report that the sweater relaxed after blocking and the sweater body hangs straight like I prefer.

I also wasn’t a big fan of the pattern, so I’ve swapped in something with more personal meaning; a traditional flowering tree motif from Palestinian embroidery.

Coming to the end, I added short rows to lift the back of the neck.

850g of yarn; I knit up the large size. The fabric is just amazing; I highly recommend ignoring those Norwegian guys saying don’t soak/block lopi yarns. Total transformation after washing and blocking.

Autocritique: There is the tiniest bit of extra fabric in the front that buckles just a bit (I think I can fix this by re-sewing down the collar a little lower in the front).
