Einrum is a lopi yarn mixed with silk; I bought it on a whim and it is really beautiful to work with. We had two snow days in a row two weeks ago and I cast on a few pairs of socks.
Basic recipe:
My starting point was 6 stitches cast on putting 24 stitches on each needle after the toe.
Top side and leg all around are in 4-2 rib. On the top of the foot, there were 4 repeats of this with purl stitches at each end. On the sole side of the foot, the first and last stitches were purled.
Seam Free Rounded Toe for a Toe-up Sock
from LynneAsh
I increased stitches every 4th row (x 3) from the midpoint of the foot to get closer to a 60% ratio of stitches on the sole side; 32 stitches and 24 stitches.
I moved the end purl stitches to the other needle before starting the heel; 30 stitches and 26 stitches.
I followed the short-row heel tutorial from MarlyBird
I decreased stitches every 4th row after the heel to get back to 24 stitches on the back of the leg.
I used the Simple Stretchy Bind-off from verypink
Size: Men’s size 12 US
Amount of wool: 137g
Auto-critique: Will start the rib from the start of the top wedge of the heel next time. In the future I think I will use the Einrum for toes, heels, and cuffs and regular Léttlopi for the rest to keep the price point down. Will also try on US 4/3.5mm needles.
Currently testing on US 4/3.5mm needles; these are more slipper-socks.
