Double knitted blankie, 50x50cm.
My daughter has been requesting a blanket for the car. Just a small one, to sit on. When I went to a knitting retreat a few weeks ago I attended a class on double knitting. Totally cool! How have I not tried this technique before?!

When my daughter saw the small test piece (in red and white) she immediately drew me a pattern of her new car blanket - so I had no choice but to knit it up for her!

I really like this technique. The result is nice and thick (of course, with such a thick yarn) and there is no wrong side with a lot of floats!
The first few rows I had to watch the tension as my purls were a little looser than my knit stitches, but after a while it evened out. My side edges are a bit messy, but the cast on and cast off are just beautiful with a kind of braided pattern.
