Notes

This scarf is Electric! It may be close to Pantone’s color of the year 2023, Viva Magenta. I chose these vivid colors because I needed a color infusion in my life.

The Plan: solid magenta Desert Flower as the consistent MC (color B) with 3 Koigu speckled colorways (color A) as a slow burning fade in and out effect.
My gauge is loose so I choose US 5 rather than US 6.
Preblock: 5 st/in; 9.5 R/in. 13” wide x 60” long
Postblock: 4.6 st/in; 8.2 R/in. 14” wide x 70” long

Start with
Koigu 1 (607P) for 13.5”
Koigu 2 (621P) for 11”
Koigu 3 (816P) for 11”
Koigu 2 (621P) for 11”
Koigu 1 (607P) for 13.5”
Total scarf length ~60” preblock, hopefully 64” postblock.
…Actually it stretched out to 70” postblock!
Total 576 rows.

First and Last Sections/13.5” each
After knitting the first section with Koigu 1, I reassessed quantities of yarn used and readjusted lengths for each colorway. I do not want to run out of Desert Flower by playing chickenshit joy
34 R each pattern row for a total of 136 R of 1A-2B is 13.5” pre block.
Desert Flower-used 23g, Koigu 1-used 26g
34 R each pattern row
136 total rows/section

Second-Third-Fourth Sections/11” each
Desert Flower-used 17g, Koigu 2 and 3-used g
25 R each pattern row
100 total rows/section

This is my first ever brioche project. It is not at all difficult, so what took me so long? Because finished brioche projects look so cool and sophisticated that I thought it MUST be complicated! What about you?

Lost my printed pattern with all of my precious scribbled notes for several months. Found in another WIP bag, lol!
Finished! Blocking now. Teeny PomPoms may be part of the finale…
