Blacker Yarns Mohair blend in Lamorna (olive green- MC), Lantic Bay (fawn- CC1), and Blisland (pink- CC2).
Using US 2 and 3 needles are a challenge for me as I’m more comfortable using larger sizes; I feel all thumbs. But this little bit of focus and concentration is exactly what I seem to need during these pandemic days.
• Vacillating between calm and urgency, this #pandemiclife is emotionally exhausting. But when I reach for those needles and skeins, it slows down just a bit; knitting each stitch is a form of prayer to ward against what is to come.
• Today the sun is shining. Yesterday the wind blew in fierce gusts, blowing the wild snowflakes sideways. Now I’m basking in the warm glow, thankful for small wonders. Hang in there, find your sunbeam today.
Stay safe, stay home!
• Jan 2023: Picking this up after a long hiatus. There is not much more to finish, just neck and sleeve ribbing.
• Finally finished. It was a project that kept getting put on the hibernating back burner. But it was so lovely to pull out and work on again and again, like an old friend. The rhythm of the pattern was so easygoing. The texture is everything.
I cast on for Size 1 because with my looser gauge it will be between 1 and 2 (aiming for 4” positive ease… post blocked…it is!)
Pre-block/ post-block measurements:
Chest- 39” / 40”
Body length (neckline to hem)- 18.5” / 20”
Neckline to armpit- 6” / 6”
Armpit to hem- 12.5” / 14”
Armhole (circum)- 12” / 12”
Neck opening- 11” / 11.5”
Will take photos when weather clears. Done!
