Jolly Santa - 08Feb2016

The “Jolly Santa” is from a crochet kit that my mother bought me as a stocking stuffer for Christmas 2015, probably from a store like Michael’s or Wal-Mart. It was intended to get me to try crochet--and it worked! Except the kit was not really a “beginner” kit so I had to try other patterns first. Now I’m giving this one a go!

The kit came with its own yarn supplies and needle. The pattern is a bit hard to follow compared to others I’ve used so far. I’ve had to start over a couple of times because it just doesn’t look like it’s coming out right.

We’ll see how it goes!

Arg. - 13Feb2016

I am not enjoying this pattern much at all. I have found what I believe are several typos in the instructions, and a number of the rounds are written in a way that just isn’t clear. Despite this, still plowing through and trying to get the project done, but I don’t think I’ll be making any attempt to do it again.

Never again! - 13Feb2016

Finished. As I neared completion on this pattern I found even more mistakes and some of the final instructions were, in my opinion, unnecessarily complicated.

The end result isn’t bad but I definitely won’t be making this pattern again.
