Notes

My favorite mitten pattern ever. Love the thumb gusset design - very comfortable to wear. This is my second pair.

Doing these again in DK weight because I’ve got the colors I want to knit for my friend in that weight. On #4 needles with DK weight yarn, it’s just a perfect fit. Knitting these for a friend for Christmas.

The pattern starts out with a braided edge, but if you do it in one color, like the pattern calls for, you can’t appreciate it much. This time I did a two-color cast on and did a two color braid. Much prettier. If you want to do a two color braid, make sure to do the two-color cast on, which will be your “set up” row. It’s worth it.

Make sure you’ve knitted a large enough mitten to accomodate the lining, especially if you’re using something like Brushed Suri, which is so thick and lofty. Yum.

I used a circular needle, doing Magic Loop. My favorite method.

Blogged about here.
