Notes

Whenever I travel, visit a yarn shop, attend a yarn festival, yarn shop event, etc., I’ll pick up a mini-skein of yarn in fingering weight and add it to the scarf, knitting approximately 20 rows in the pattern for each, which may leave a little for a scrap blanket.

#1. 05.10.2018 - I’m starting with a local yarn shop, The Loop Kensington, in Calgarly. 100% merino superwash. No color name is on the label.

#2. 06.01.2018 - I visited a new yarn shop in Calgary, Yarn Twisters, on their opening day, May 28. I’ll The color is “Killing It” and dyed by Ancient Arts in the shop’s exclusive colorway (see the shop business card).

#3. 06.09.2018 - At the Estes Park Wool Market I saw yarn for the first time from Leading Men Fiber Arts. I’d heard good things about their yarn on the Yarn Hoarder podcast. The color is “Imperfection”.

#4. 06.09.2018 - Thanks to the Grocery Girls podcast I learned about Hue Loco. She opens her shop in Loveland, CO between 10 and 4 on Saturdays so a visit was in order. The yarns are beautiful and I could have brought home a lot of yarn, but I was somewhat good. I’ll definitely visit again in the future.

#5. 09.07.2018 - A visit to Custom Woolen Mills outside Carstairs, AB with friend, Sheila (pinkdaisy on Ravelry). Mule Spinner Yarns (mini-skein), 100% Natural Wool. Color: Salmon, lot 01.

#6. 09.08.2018 - Purchased at the Prairie Fibre Festival in Lacombe, AB. Yarn is from Vivid Yarn Studio (mini-skein), Color: Rebel. 75% superwash merino, 25% nylon.

#7. 09.29.2018 - Knit City, Vancouver. Official colorway (1 of 2 offered) of the event. Yarn: Lichen and Lace, Color: Myrtle. 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon.

#8. 10.25.2018 - Trip to Houston, Texas. Yarn:Serendipitous Wool Co. Dyed by customer of Twisted Yarns, Spring, Texas. Color: Tangerini In Autumn - Vayu (did not use Greenleaf mini. It’ll become heels and toes in socks in the future).

#9. 12.01.2018 - Road trip to Fort Collins, Colorado and My Sister Knits yarn store. Yarn: Colorful Eclectic Dyeworks mini, color: Tranquility, base: Enchanted. This is the first time I’ve seen this yarn.

#10. 01.12.2019 - Airdrie, Alberta’s inaugural Creekside Yarn Festival. Yarn: The Wool Baron mini, color: Ugly Sweater Party. First time using this yarn. Couldn’t resist this little ball of pretty colors.

#11. 06.08.2019 Ancient Arts Pop-up shop at Willow ‘n Wool in Airdrie, AB held on World Wide Knit in Public Day. Yarn: Socknado, Color: Ships of the Desert.
