Notes

This pattern is available in my Ravelry store as a stand-alone pattern and is also a part of my new Frost“ ebook. The collection is on sale for 40% through Halloween night, 2014.

I designed what I feel is an elegant ensemble especially for the holiday season, meant to be worn by teens and adults. The pairing of two luxury yarns along with simple, clean stitch patterns makes these special occasion accessories irresistibly perfect for December through February holidays and special outings.

My designs began with a triangular shawl pattern (the Frost Shawl). It turned out so lovely that I decided to design and knit a matching hat.

The hat looked so pretty with the shawl, I decided I would really enjoy having a matching cowl as well.

As I worked on the cowl, I suddenly visualized how extraordinary it would be to also have a pair of matching fingerless gloves.

I envision teenagers and ladies dressing themselves up in these fine accessories and heading off on a cold winter’s night to a special holiday gathering, Christmas party, Christmas dinner, New Year’s Eve celebration, Valentine’s Day … what have you … and feeling extra special because of the knitted items so lovely they almost seem like jewelry.

My five-year-old granddaughter tried on the shawl and hat, and she looked adorable in them as well. :)
