I used an odd lot skein I still had here at my studio (i.e. the original 2 oz put-up for Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock which is no longer listed here on Ravelry; they only list the 100g/435 yard skein).

I had 241 yards in this 58.6g skein (a bit over 2 oz). Since I had plenty of yarn, I made a longer scarf of 21 row repeats, thus using 64 beads. (and I still had some yarn left over, but those large beads do add up in weight pretty quickly and I didn’t want the scarf to be heavier than would be comfortable.
