Planning a pair of wristwarmers for myself. Also as an exercise in double bed jacqard.
As the sideseams are always quite nice in DBJ I planned to knit a strip of 15 to 17 cm width and a few centimeters longer than twice my wrist circumference. Then I plan to cut and sew the two pieces.
I took a border from the fantastic book ‘Alterknit Revolution’ a translation of the Swedish book ‘Hönsestrik a love story’
as a starting point, doubled the fern motive and turned it in a 90° angle, entered it with Img2track into my machines storage.
Then I knitted it with two of my newly acquired Italian pure wool yarns. The first try ended prematurely due to a short moment of lacking concentration - forgot to change colour at the left side…
With a stitchsize of 1 I did not feel like undoing two rows, so I declared the piece a belated swatch. :-D
Second time around I did the whole knitting as an exercise in mindfulness. I kept concentrated and finished 500 rows without a mistake. Yay!
Now I need to do the sewing part. It will be a combination of hand and machine sewing.

First one finished. Decided for completely sewing by hand. More control over pattern.

Second one has been finished in the meantime. Picture to follow…
Love wearing them. They are not too warm, just right to warm my much too often cold hands. The yarn is nice and not scratchy.
