I only used the main pattern, not the border.
This was the first lace pattern that I converted and transferred to the 965i using img2track.
There is a similar pattern in the Stitchworld collection (No 161) but it consists only of the leafs, there are no wave lines between the leafs. So I analysed other patterns with wandering lines and figured out how to combine the elements. Then I generated a picture with the required pixel dimensions (stitches x rows) in Paint.Net and diligently painted my black pixels, saved the file and transferred it with img2track. The first try still had a small error but that was easy to fix.
I was so proud when the final sample with some sock yarn came out correctly and beautiful!
For the scarf I “programmed” three plain stitches at either side and knitted four plain rows at beginning and end. I knitted as long as my two balls of Silkhair went - which resulted in a perfect length for a small scarf.
This project was also my first lace project on this machine. I had several opportunities for learning and improving my skills during knitting, as I made every possible mistake:
- knitted more than the two necessary rows between using the lace carriage
- did not move the lace carriage enough times before the knit rows
- one stitch had dropped to two rows below
- a bunch of stitches had dropped several rows…
But in the end I mastered everything. :-) Each mistake or rather it’s repair took me much more time than the entire knitting, but in total I finished the scarf in one afternoon plus evening.
