Cabled Tree
Straight part of trunk is just 5 rounds. Reduced roots section by a couple of rounds too and removed about three rounds in the leaves sections. This was to ensure the majority of the design fitted the front of the baby sweater.
The reverse stockinette is 4sts wider on each side than the chart (8sts extra in total).
No extra sts were added after the hemline as the tree has its own increases to take account of the cables. This meant 12 less sts on the needles for the front than the pattern when it came to the neckline shaping. It also meant less sts put on hold for the front. The sts picked up for the neckline equalled the same total as the pattern as picked up more on the front slopes than pattern stated.
