I made some changes to this pattern. I really love the Bernat Alpaca; it’s so soft! Rather than adjusting the pattern as recommended for bulky weight yarns, I increased the hook size to J and worked as written for the 0-3 mo. size. For the last row (before earflaps), I worked sc rather than hdc.

For the ears, I used a worsted weight pink yarn for the inside, so I switched to an H hook and followed the instructions for the outer ear. It was perfectly sized to fit inside the bulky!
