Notes

I LOVE THIS PATTERN!

It’s working up soooo quickly -- I guess it’s a combination of a pattern that’s interesting enough to keep your attention but simple enough that you don’t have to constantly refer back, and using REALLY luscious yarn that I can’t keep my hands off. :-)

Anyway, twelve rows in, I’m declaring this a winner.

At the end of the project, I STILL declare this a great project! If you’re already familiar with reading patterns, though, I would recommend using the short directions over the full-length set, which pretty much lists every single stitch for every single row. It gets a little tedious if you’re used to the short-hand of repeats.

I ended up doing four rows of tonal yarn, and then two rows of variegated; that’s how I got those interesting little splashes of color. The trim was done entirely in the variegated. From reading other project notes, I was a little afraid of how much yarn the trim might use, but it wasn’t a shocking amount (possibly because I was fully expecting to use a shocking amount!).

This has become my go-to summer shawl; I keep it in a sealed plastic bag in my pocketbook so it’s always on hand if I get chilly.
