I always forget how much I dislike tip-down shawls. They go so quickly at first, but by the time you’re 3/4 of the way through, you’re wondering if you’ll ever finish.

This was one of those -- the bind-off alone felt like it took hours.

Having said all that, this pattern is easy to memorize and goes very quickly (at least at the beginning); it would be good for the beginning knitter.

And I’m so very pleased with the result. The mohair is light as air, but wonderfully warm and soft. And it looks very, very pretty in this pattern.

The shawl grew from 40” to 49” wide after blocking. It’s a VERY generous size! The shape is lovely -- it naturally wants to stay on your shoulders, though I’ll most often wear it as a wrap with a shawl pin.
