I did change the flower. My flower is as follows:
sc in any dc on yellow middle. in next dc do sl st, ch 2, 3dc, ch2, sl st. In next dc do sc. Repeat all around for a total of 6 petals with a sc between each petal.

I also added wedges on the ends to fill in.

My border is: sc all around with green.
Next row: 7 dc in 1st sc, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc, sk 2, 7 dc in next sc, continue all around
