DK yarn 2.75mm & 3.25mm needles cast on 8 less sts.
Fine DK yarn 3.0mm and 2.25mm needles
4Ply yarn 2.5mm & 2mm needles Cast on 8 more sts
Silk hand dyed yarn (#5)- followed pattern needle and sts
After finishing 1 thru 4 I found a great method to avoid the “seam” when changing from knit to purl.
Garter in the round Used in Hat #5
I followed pattern for rib then:
Attach Color2 and purl till the last st of Color 1 slip this stitch, drop C2 and knit with C1.
Knit till the last st of C2, slip this stitch, drop C1 and purl with C2
Work these 2 rounds till time to start the decs rnds, ending on a C1 rnd. Working a C2 rnd, purl 35, place marker repeat 3 more times. the last marker is now the beg of rnd. Follow pattern for crown decs Changing colors and knit/purl at Beginning of Round. The jog that is now created when changing from knit to purl will be hidden in the crown decreases.

Also another method to avoid the “seam” and to knit every rnd: at end of rnds, turn, pu new color and knit.
