I love all of Diane Soucy’s Knitting Pure & Simple patterns. They’re so well written. It’s really nice that she includes stitch counts after critical increasing or decreasing rounds. I always recommend her patterns to beginning knitters as I feel they are some of the best around. That said, they do tend to run a little over-sized for my taste (short and wide). Most of the boys in my family are tall and slim. So, I almost always choose a smaller size, then add length.

Started this project as a stash buster for partial skeins of my hand dyed Supernova yarn. Unfortunately, I ran out of the Marine colorway half way through and had to dip into a new skein. Rats!

The one thing I will say about this pattern is that there were quite a few stitches to p/u and knit for the ribbing on the neck and sleeves. While this is not difficult, it might prove a little challenging for a beginning knitter.

Love, love, love the way this little vest turned out. It will look so cute on my blonde-haired, blue-eyed nephew!
