My sweet boy loves the book Russell the Sheep and asked that I make him a long stocking cap like the one the main character wears in the book. I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for in the Ravelry Pattern Library. So, I wrote up my own pattern.

Size: Child (6 - 10 yrs)

-CO 88 sts with US#6 needles (16” circular)
-Place marker to note beginning of round and one to note middle of round
-K2P2 ribbing for 1.5”
-Switch to US#7 needles (16” circular)
-Knit to 6” from CO edge
-Decreased using K2tog before both markers on every other round
-Add pompom
